If you're shooting a 1' group at 100 yards with a Mini14, keep it. And for the record, an MOA is slightly larger than an inch at 100 yards. So technically, you'd have a sub-moa rifle. On to the inherent accuracy, or lack of, in the M1A. A standard really is only good for 2 moa, roughly 2.25 inches, at 100 yards. You'd be surprised at how well these rifles can make longer shots, but only because it has one of the best sight/trigger combos to grace a rifle to date.

I've got an old '83 National Match, in an old GI wood stock, no bedding. Thanks to some Sadlak goodies and careful load development, it will shoot 1-1.5' at 200 yards with the use of a bipod. Hits milk jugs and steel all day at 500 yards. No idea of the round count on the medium-contour barrel, but its a shooter. It started out very rough, in the 3-4 moa range. It took time, tuning, and lots of patience, but it came around. If you want to dedicate a little money, and some handloads, the gun will shoot 1 moa all day long.

Now to be fair, most 'rack-grade' ARs are only 1.5 moa rifles, with the exceptions being RRA. They seem to shoot better than the price of their parts, kudos to Rock River for caring. If you step up to LMT's, or LWRC, or POF, you've just jumped price points, but you're getting sub-moa rifles. These would be closer in relation to a National Match M1A, or possibly a Supermatch. Definitely comparing Knights Armament to a Supermatch, but id rather have a KAC SR-25 over my M1A any day. Just don't purchase one, minus the M21, and think you'll go out and print a half inch group all day long If you like the M1A platform, and want a pure shooter, it's a great rifle. Two M1A's on the rack at the gun store (or table at the gun show) and one will out shoot the other.
